Daily Routine
DAILY ROUTINE AND PROGRAMMING
It is very important for a child to have a structured routine every day. Our goal is to provide your child with a warm, nurturing, educational, and a routine that children can get used to and enjoy their day in the daycare, but we are flexible to change the times to work around individual needs. Daily routine and weekly program plans will be posted in each room, but you are welcome to discuss your child’s day with the class teacher, and get more individual daily report about your child. The teachers are there to answer any question you might have, so we encourage you to ask them. It is very important for Gan Shelanu to have a positive communication and co-operation with parents, so please feel free to talk to the teacher, the supervisor, or the director, about any concern you might have.
FIELD TRIPS
Different field trips and workshops are planned for the school year therefore an extra fee will be applied. A note will be sent in the beginning of the school year regarding the prices and the planned field trips scheduled. Also you will be asked to sign a permission slip allowing your child to go on the field trips.MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
There are strict procedures in a daycare concerning the administration of medication to children. All medication needs to be in its original package, with child’s name labeled on the bottle. Parent than needs to complete a medication authorization form. We cannot give a pain or fever reducing medication with a note “if you feel it is necessary”, and if your child has a fever he has to stay at home and return only after being fever free for at least 24 hours. The medications will be stored in a box in the fridge or a cupboard provided for this purpose only. Epi- pens and Puffers will be stored close to hand so we can use them immediately if needed.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR CHILDREN
The parents will need to supply the following:
- Diapers, wipes, and diaper cream.
- Extra Clothes.
- Drinking cups.
- Indoor shoes.
- Sunscreen and hats.
- Make sure all your child’s items are labeled.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Gan Shelanu has enough spaces for parking, but please keep your drop off and pick up short to be fair to all parents and children. If you have any concerns or would like to talk to the teacher, a meeting could be arranged so we don’t take any time away from other children. Please note that we close at 6:00pm and we charge $1 for every minute, and you will have to pay it directly to the staff who is on duty. A child will not be released to a person who is not authorized to pick up the child, without the parent informing the teachers, and he will have to provide the centre with a photo I.D. If you are late on a regular basis you will be asked to withdraw your child because our hours are not meeting your schedule. If a parent is not in the centre by 6:45pm and we made every attempt to call the parents, and the emergency contacts that are on file, we are required to call by law The Children Aid Society.
